Anniversary Week

It is the week of and I am looking forward to seeing all you homies for the Party on Saturday. We hope all of you decide to join us for the day and make it a great summer party. The competition will begin at 10am with the first heat going at 10:30am. Once the competition ends, we will be partying for the rest of the day. We will be grilling, feasting on the food all are welcome to bring, and partaking in a few adult beverages. We went all out on this party and booked Steph so good times are guaranteed! “Awesome F’n Party Magazine” ranked her as the most wanted party celebrity in 2013. Boom!

I have 3 other men (Jimmy, Abe, & Tim) for the Rx that are without partners. We also only had a few sign ups for the scaled division (Karen, Tammy, Joe, & Kristen). If any women are interested in the Rx please let me know and I will partner you up with one of the 3 available homies. As for the scaled, I may partner up 2 ladies as one of the teams. I will give it a few days, but if we dont get other sign ups to team some of these peeps up, we will just offer a time for peeps to do for fun.

JUDGES NEEDED

If anyone would like to participate in the day as a judge, please let me know asap, I could use up to 5 judges.

TIMING

We will have the first Rx Heat go at 10:30, the Second Rx Heat at 11am, and the Fun division at 11:30. WOD 2 for the top half of the RX teams will go off roughly at 12:15. I will post a few standards later in the week, but I ask everyone to remember that this is really just for fun. Give some of us from the gym a little taste of competition. Then we party!

FOOD & OTHER

So far, peeps have committed to bringing hoagie trays, veggie burgers, chips and dip, potato salad, desserts, and fruit salad. We will also be supplying some grilling basics like burgers and dogs. It is BYOB, so come with your beverage of choice.

We also welcome any tailgating type games, so if you think it will lend to a good time, BRING IT!

NO OPEN GYM THIS SUNDAY

Due to the Anniversary party, we will not be offering open gym this upcoming Sunday. This is just a one week thing due to the party.

LIVING SOCIAL

18 peeps have just recently went through the intro class this past Saturday. Most of them are checking out our program through a Living social offer. We will have extra trainers at most classes to support the extra peeps, but we ask you to help them feel welcome and acclimate them to our classes, lingo, and routines. A number of you have also come in through a groupon or living social deal, so please welcome them as you have everyone else. You will mainly be needed to support them through all of my excessive cursing and odd humor.

TUE – Snatch Balance and interval style w/ wall ball, slam balls, KB Snatch, & Box Jumps
WED – Push Press & Run, Muscle up(or pull up & dips), and KB Swing WOD
THU – Squat Cleans & HSPU, Jumping Squats, & T2Bar ladder
FRI – Anniversary WOD 1 (those competing on Sat can use gym as open gym, but should be taking off if competing)
SAT – Anniversary WOD & Party
SUN – Closed

Weekly Update

Busy weekend for our members! A number of the OTJ fellas participated in the Tough Mudder and 4 of our CFP peeps represented at the South Philly Rumble. Proud of all these homies for flexin their fitness levels and representing CFP and OTJ. I want to thank all the members that came out and supported Karin, Janet, Mike, & Dana at the Rumble. I know they greatly appreciated having all of you there. Personally, our competition team impressed the hell out of me. They had great strategy and preparation which definitely helped in certain events. More then anything, its just cool to watch them all come together and pick each other up. As for our in house competition, I will be taking down the competition sign up sheet within the next few days, so if interested, get on it! We need a few Rx women still. Any of you ladies interested????? We welcome food and beverage as well!

As for other happenings, there must have been a lot of sex going down roughly nine months ago because another CFP/OTJ homie has a new addition to the Fam! Dan C. had his 3rd kid this past weekend, so congrats my man. Really happy for you and your family. If you see any of the new CFP parents sleeping on the couch at the gym, please do not disturb. I also want to congratulate what Sean D. has accomplished. Sean is is now 2 years sober and if you never met him, then you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting one of the most uplifting people to be around. I could be in a terrible mood heading into an OTJ class for whatever reason, then I realize how lame I am when that dude greets me with all this positive energy every single time I see him. Congrats Homie!

JOURNAL REVIEW

On Saturday June 29th, I will be hanging at the gym all day to review nutrition Journals and hopefully set up some plans for peeps. If you are a member and would like to review your diet, please journal the entire week before and hang stop in on Saturday June 29th anytime from 10am – 1pm. I will be there until 1:30 or 2 based on need. This is mainly for members that I haven’t had a chance to sit down with yet, but if you feel like you need help it is open to everyone.

TUE – Rumble TEAM Relay WOD – Row, lunges, buddy carries, sprints
WED – Partner “DT” & short conditioning WOD
THU – Team WOD with ball slams, lat burpees, bj’s, SDHP’s, and V-ups
FRI – Muscle ups (or pull up & dips) then “Nancy”
SAT – Partner Rack Lunges, Push ups, Bar hops at 10am & 11am
SUN – Open gym from 10am – 12pm
